Sinfully Delicious Chocolate Cake

Chocolate cakes are my favorites, especially those with yummilicious ganache made from butter & dark chocolate. Both of these cakes were decorated simply with fondant flowers.

Rush Job

This cake is a very very rush job. Her mom gave me less than 24 hours notice for a birthday cake to celebrate her 12th birthday. Due to the lack of time, some areas were not as smooth as I wanted it to be but the overall design was acceptable. It's a 2 layered cake, with a thin bottom layer and a thicker top layer. One of the feedback received was it looked like a hat !

Other Baking Efforts

These are a few of my baking attempts pre Wilton days. Most of them are fresh cream sponge cakes and cheesecakes. Cookie Monster is a favourite of mine though ;)

These cupcakes was for a Malay customer who loved the colour. The roses were handmade petal by petal. She was thrilled when she received them.

Birthday Cupcakes for a 10 year old

This is one of my very first attempt at children cupcake decorating. She could not make up her mind on either Hello Kitty or Doraemon and decided to have both ! These cupcakes were a real confidence booster for me. I was a little worried that my decorations do not look like the original characters but was happy that it turn out ok.

Baby TV Cake

That's Oliver and the Butterfly from Baby TV. Oliver is one of my nephew's favourite characters from Baby TV and I decided to try my hand at making a figurine of him. I was very happy to hear that they both bear a remarkable resemblance to the original characters.

Happy Birthday Sweetie

This box of cupcakes were ordered by my cousin who celebrated her birthday in February. She wanted something girly but not too childish and viola... miniature handbags, shoes & make up items. I really had fun doing these designs and am especially proud of my lady figurine. My cousin was happy with the end result so it was well worth the effort !

Happy Rabbit Year

These are the 6 cuppies that I made to celebrate 2011's Chinese New Year. In addition to the figurines, I made a cherry blossom plant, firecrackers and the chinese word "福".

This year is the year of the Rabbits, so I made a cute bunny to welcome the new year. Took me awhile to figure out how to get it right but am satisfied with my little bunny.

Every Chinese New Year, it is imperative to welcome the God of Prosperity to your home. I made a cute version of the God of Prosperity in order for him to stay in my home forever. :D

There is a chinese saying "年年鱼" so I made a fish. My chinese is bad, I know but my fish is very lively.

Christmas Cuppies

Last Christmas, I decided to put my new found skills of figurine making to test. I made Santa Claus, Rudolph and snowmen as toppings for my cupcakes. Was very happy with how Rudolph turned out but Santa Claus was a bit on the thin side. Well maybe by next Christmas, I would be able to make nicer looking Santa Clauses or maybe even a beautiful Santarina.

Full Moon Cuppies

Had 2 cousins who gave birth recently. One had a boy and the other a girl. My gift to them were a box of 16 cuppies with boy and girl theme each. One of them ordered 50 boxes of individually packed cuppies as thank you gifts for her colleagues. I really had fun doing those miniatures and was soon addicted to all things small.

Birthday Cakes

So far, I've only done 2 birthday cakes. My 1st ever attempt at fondant figurine was for my little nephew's 1st birthday. Yes, you've guess correctly, he's born in the year of the Cow ! Was not really satisfied with the cake covering but have since learned the correct way of covering a cake with fondant.
My 2nd birthday cake was for a very special girl (my god daughter's) 2nd birthday. Her mom requested a doll cake and after much research, I managed to come up with a cake that she liked very much. She has been my greatest supporter since. Thank you very much Yvonne !

Wilton Certified Cake Decorator ;)

Woohoo ! Finally I managed to complete my Wilton Decorating Course 1, 2 and 3. It was fun learning all the techniques of making flowers from scratch and I was very satisfied with my masterpieces.
